From november 7th to 8th the Future Of Web Design Conference is held at the Jacob Koppel Javits Convention Center in New York, United States Of America.
The conference is sponsored by large companies like Adobe, Microsoft Silverlight and KickApps, just to name a few. Also the list of confirmed speakers sounds very promising. Among others there are:
- Joshua Davis from Joshua Davis Studios who gives workshop talking about the difficult aspect of finding inspiration & "The Art of Creative Inspiration".
- Jeffrey Zeldman from Happy Cog who will discuss the future of Web Design.
- Ryan Singer from 37 Signals who talks about web application usability and "Designing Web Apps" at his workshop.
- Andy Clarke from Stuff & Nonsense who also discusses the future of Web Design.
- David Martin from Fantasy Interactive who gives a workshop on Learning from Cutting - Edge Flash & "Fast & Funky Flash".
- Jeffrey Kalmikoff from skinnyCorp talking about community-centered design.
- Jonathan Snook from Snook.ca who talks about AJAX & Design aspects.
- Robert Hoekman, Jr from Rhjr.net who will talk about "Improving Interface Design" in his workshop.
- Elliot Jay Stocks from elliotjaystocks.com who gives an insight in his ideas on how to destroy the Web 2.0 look.
The venue, the Javits Center, which is near 34th St Penn Station, boasts seating for over 800 attendees and offers an amazing view of the Hudson river as well as a large lunch and break area. More information about speakers, the venue tickets, pricings and everything else can be found on the FOWD website.
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend to listen to Elliot Jay Stocks destroyal of the Web 2.0 look, but if I`m lucky I can find some videos from the workshops on the internet. YouTube used to be a good source. So if you cannot attend as well, watch out for videos.
