Jabz™
After months of promising a new design and code, it`s finally nearly done. During the next days the site will be filled with content.

I just discovered that the latest StumbleUpon updates integrates information about a website next to the search results in Google. At first I was a little bit shocked when I looked at my site-request results as I was not logged in to my StumbleUpon account. I had never seen this before. The StumbleUpon bar in one`s browser is causing this. This is good and bad at the same time. The new features make sense and look good. On the other hand StumbleUpon did not ask if I want these new features enabled or not. Who knows what else they have changed, if StumbleUpon is now tracking visited websites or, even worse, changing (e.g. redirecting) search engine results in browsers. This reminds me of Zango and other Spyware products.
I think, from a social media optimization point of view, the new featurs are really useful for users and search engine optimization as stumbled websites get an extra eyecatcher and therefore more clicks.
User that want to switch the new features off can do so. Simple go to Tools > Toolbar Options > Configuration tab > Web Search in the toolbar. After unchecking "Highlight Recommended Search Results", "Show Names of Friends Who Like Search Results" and "Show Topics of Search Results" everything should be "normal" again.
